The Master is not god, he is Wagner

so many ideas and goals, have I

I’ve SO. MANY.
goals and Ideas I want to do, but doing day-to-day things get in the way of them so often, as does procrastinating said day-to-day thing. (I don’t even have that many day-to-day things, Imagine being married, a parent…)
I lose track of them.
writing them down doesn’t help “much”, I misplace the things they are written on, particular if they are written in a computer.
I don’t know often HOW to work towards such things, (often the way that seems logical to ME, is lambasted by others (but what do they know, indeed (but too often, I give them my thoughts, and end up self-underminging my own instincts, getting all stressed…)
then I calm down, reconnect (ahhh, one of those elusive words that yoga people and hippies use) with myself, and my own instincts, and then repeat, but there so many of them.
I do need better habits.
I’ve had good habits for two days.
there are just so many of these nifty goals and ideas…. they are chaos, they overwhelm. I shall not be told that I must go against my own instincts in the HOW TO advice from others who do not understand what being me is all about.
if any of you friends are or are to be my “partners” in such ventures, I ask you to get together with me often, so we can do these things.

simplicity eludes me, and does not, also.

I should most certainly not be so quick to jealously begrudge persons who seem… easier-going and less-troubled than I…
it is probably easier being them… at least when it comes to over-thinking…
I even over-think and over-analyze when it comes to music, (obviously.)
thankfully, SOME Music is powerful enough to remove me from this and get me in the moment…
either the (classic)High Stimulations of
Holst, Stravinsky, WAGNER, etc…
or
the blessedness that is Minimalism….
not to mention African and Indian (and yes, Indonesian) musics in their fabulous repetitivenesses. (nice word.)

is MY high stimulation music right for you

so, as a HYPER dude (an ADHD dude, whatever…)
what RIGHT do I have, to TELL OTHER people who are ADHD, that MY MUSIC OF CHOICE might be right for THEM?

that it might help THEM feel EXTREME JOY and give THEIR some direction as well?

(this is rhetorical)

(I PLAY a lot of said music, I organize groups and rehearse and perform it, not just listening (though listening is the bomb as well.)

I want to maybe do it with YOU TOO, whomever you are, if you are the right person, THE RIGHT MONKEYS….

today it’s this, though I don’t currently have a SAMBA group (and never HAVE had, one of MY own, though I’ve been in others’s a little.)
more of this, more of this, yes.

STAR WARS MUSIC, MACHETE ORDER

!! ooOOOHhhhh….sssSERIOUS Geekout question….
Ok, I have Recently learned of watching the star wars films in what is called MACHETE order, that is

IV, V (the first two “old” films), then II, and II, SKIPPING I entirely, and then VI (the last “old” film.)

my question is…

does this order

HELP or HURT the LEITMOTIVIC situation…, which at best can be described as PROBLEMATIC watching the films I-VI, or IV-VI, then I-III…

?

I bet it helps…

as is, it works best IV V VI, I II III…. old films, followed by new ones, in order they wee MADE< not that in which they happen chronologically. here’s why 1. The Imperial March does not appear AT ALL in Episode IV, the FIRST/OLDEST star wars film (formerly called “star wars”, no subtitle.) few people seem to realize that. it only first appears in Empire Strikes Back and Jedi. as such, having it appear, as it does, albeit to great effect, about 24 years earlier, in II, attack of the clones…. is kinda super uncool..l, in a Wagnerian sense… (the ONLY sense, that is…) 2. in said order, IV V VI, I II III, ANAKINS’s theme (pretty minor, frankly…. comes in in I…. it “leads” to, “Points” to, The Imperial March. skipping episode I skips this, BUT, that doesn’t really matter, as it appears also in episode II… (and, I;m told, ONCE, in III, though I don’t know where, to this day…) 3. the EMPEROR’S THEME is the kicker… as originally intended, musically, that is, it appears only in VI, return of the jedi… NOT in V, empire, even thought the emperor himself does so. with the prequel trilogy, it appears in all three, including mere MOMENTS from the start of episode I…. in MACHETE order (figuring this out for the first time here, hopeful…) IV, V, II, III, then VI…. it isn’t in IV, nor V… as such it’s first appearence will, instead of a. VI, like in the OLD days b. I, like in the NEW days… will instead be c. in II… attack of the clones, I believe, when anakin has killed the tusken raiders…, and is all sad, in the garage at the lars homestead (who said I wasn’t a geek?;) my question are.. 1. is that appropriate? 2. it IS better for The Imperial March, coming as it does (and frankly, did in IV-VI, then I-III) as a RECAPITULATION of it in V, not as supplanting it’s use in V as it does chronologically…. (WOW I’m a geek… WOW………) and (dude, as I write this, I realize that similar things can be said about Yoda’s Theme…. dude, the prequel trilogy “IS” a flashback– dude, THIS order “more closely” preserves the musical continuity one would EXPECT in MUSICAL FLASHBACKS, such as in Wagner Operas, or symphonies with interconnected themes in their movements, NOT composed OUT OF ORDER… !! DUDE! I AM A CONVERT!!! to MACHETE ORDER, it would seem… AS I was saying… 3. this method ALSO introduces YODA’S THEME, where it SHOULD be, in EMPIRE< V… NOT far earlier, pre-empting the intended MUSICAL SENSE that the OLD movies made until the new ones messed the whole thing up…. Well then. My Opinion is as such.

HIGH STIMULATION MUSIC, mine 1 24 15

There is some music and dance that I REALLY REALLY love to play, and listen to.

it is of SUCH intense joy, that it pretty much is my favorite thing in life.

my PERSONAL TASTE in such matters is pretty much as follows:
(in no particular order of puesto (course)
1. James Brown
2. Wagner, namely The Ring, Der Ring des Nibelungen
3. plenty of West African Dance-Drumming, from Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Ivory Coast, etc.
4. The Planets by Gustav Holst
5. The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky
6. Brazilian Music, particularly Brazilian Jazz
7. and yes, there’s always “Jazz”, yes yes.
8. don’t leave out CERTAIN HARMONIES (I’ll get to which ones)
and
9. STEVE REICH’s Minimalist Music and that of
10.. PHILIP GLASS as well.

African Dance, yes yes yes…. doing that is one of the awesomest things ever… total exhaustion, VERY stimulating, so much so that at the end, you are exhausted… and yet, you would (and do) continue dancing for more hours…

THIS is what I want… THIS is HIGH STIMULATION.

THIS is LIFE.

James Brown once said something along the lines of “I want to give them MORE than they came for, I want to make them (the audience) tired, ’cause THAT’S what they came for!”

Energy Usage.

perhaps I am a Hedonist. (perhaps I should google such terms before I use them, not “completely
certain if I have the right word in mind. (but where’s the fun in that, where’s the fun in that, inDeed…)

Books for Christmas

coolest presents I got, as usual lately
are BOOKS.
I SAW THE WORLD END by Deryck Cooke
WAGNER’S RING AND IT’S SYMBOLS by Robert Donnington (BOTH about Wagner)
FIGHT CLUB the novel, and
DESERT TO DREAM, a big coffee table book of burningman photos, including many nudes of both varieties, both painted and not, mud covered and not, and lots of “ART” too. wonderful.
Mom and Dad, LITERATURE PEOPLE as they are, are proud. Smile.
I put the T in ENTP/INTP

The Hurt Locker, 1

the ideas in this post need clearer explanation. I’ll get to that some time.

A post about the film THE HURT LOCKER.
SPOILER ALERT! DON’T READ THIS till you SEE IT!!
seriously!

ready? ok.

the first time I saw the end, when he goes back… I felt what I imagine was intended, kinda shock and horror at how a man could become addicted to the adrenaline rush that they feel in a war.

but every time since,

I have felt, shall we say, something else.

as he is walking in slow motion, and then it jump cuts to him in the suit… with that super loud THRASH music…

I feel who is anyone to judge anyone for what is best for them in life…

there are things about life that I love very much (not war, no.)
sometimes, as in the case of The Dude from The Big Lebowski….
sometimes there’s a man… and… he’s the man, for his time and place.

ADHD is not “addiction, for one.
I am not addicted to war, no.
but there are things that I find “highly stimulating.”
fortunately, for me, they are mostly music, not some ‘foreign substance, i.e, a drug” that I put in my system.

nobody can tell me, nor indeed anyone,
that they shouldn’t be this way, that they shouldn’t get “what they need”, in “their” amount and in a way of “their” choosing. (albeit, if it’s really drugs we are talking about, and I’m not sure it is…. it might or might not change the equation.

I mean, is adrenaline a drug?

is developing tolerance for things, adrenaline included, bad?

who’s to say?
(this is why a film wins best picture, in ambiguities like these.)

certainly not “normal people.” anymore than someone different is to say that “normal people” are doing it wrong. though, we may often think so, I certainly do.

All I am saying is that when I see Sgt. James walking in Iraq, in slow motion at the end of the film…. in the suit….

having nothing to do with America, or War or anything… Edmund, I didn’t take any pro or anti-us stuff from the film, was on a different level for me, as you can see)

I felt empowered. very very VERY MUCH.

to this day, I get a BIG rush in that last scene (see above… it’s High Stimulation.)

not because of war. I was against our invasion or Iraq.

because sometimes people need to do what’s right for THEM, regardless of how it might appear to others.

this is why a film wins best picture. because of ambiguities like these.

In High Stimulation we trust.

p.s. this is all about MUSIC, and MY FEELING that people have often not been in sync with, not understood, my tastes, and the comparatively extreme nature of my musical tastes, to others’.

I love Wagner, West African Drumming of various kinds, Minimalism by Steve Reich and Philip Glass, James Brown, Jazz, and many other things too.

sometimes I like to hear the same thing over and over for hours.
sometimes I hear the same thing over and over in MY HEAD, automatically, for hours.
sometimes I love playing music for hours…. sometimes I like doing it until I’m dead tired and can’t drive home (but have to anyway… coffee…)

High Stimulation Music is life. for me.

so again, this post was not about war… it was about me, and music, which somehow, I saw in the last scene of the Hurt Locker.

(Incidentally, there are Tritones in the chords of this music…. pimp)
