Craig Shields
Craig Shields (Piano) is a freelance percussionist who specialises in contemporary music, dance accompaniment, and musical theatre.

He graduated from Chapman University in 2012 with degrees in Percussion Performance and Music Education and currently works at Renaissance Arts Academy, a performing arts charter school in Eagle Rock.

He also accompanies modern dance classes for the Contemporary Modern Dance Cooperative in downtown L.A. Recent projects include appearances at Mesa College, Chapman University, CalArts, and various local musical theatre pits.

Craig has performed with the ensemble Eighteen-Squared – which celebrates the music of minimalist composer Steve Reich – and on multiple occasions with the Grammy-nominated Los Angeles Percussion Quartet. He currently performs with the O.C.-based flamenco group Duende Flamenco as “Él de la Barba” (“The Bearded One”).
