personally I think people are happier when their OWN needs are met, and THEIR OWN feelings are acknowledged and taken care of, rather than just subjugating them (almost always without their consent or even understanding (thanks tradition and religion)
yeah, rather than subjugating them to some grand larger whole, which may not have “anything” to do with THEM and THEIR FEELINGS.
it probably teaches them that
1. their own feelings don’t matter, and are bad; THEY don’t matter themselves,
2. BUT- if you subjugate yourself to “whatever”, you somehow become valuable, good,

PEOPLE! dammit, STOP IT!
ACKNOWLEDGE “YOUR” SELF AND “YOUR” FEELINGS AND NEEDS!!!
…
yeah, I think the world, if it ever happens, will be a lot less fucked up if we
accept that we are human and stop being guilty about it.
there was never gonna be anything without self-love.
no one else could give it to me.
I would never have accepted other people’s compliments, much less their love, without SELF-love.
sudden inspiration:
your actions should conform to whatever the best version of is, or would have been or could be if you WERE in fact the best version of you.
crazy thought, I know
hey
why do you suppose I think it’s important to have integrity?
something that people who do things for profit, things that are not supposed to be done for profit, DO in fact DO for profit?
(wow that sentence sucked;)
It Is Never about popularity.
It Is Always about being the best You, Today.
-me.
(this while potentially about anything, was about Music, not winning a grammy, and playing music not for profit, nor the approval of the mob, but to just be awesome, yourself.
why do I prefer to write music in a DARK, LOUD coffeehouse (with MY OWN music in my headphones, OVER the already loud music at the coffeehouse,
miles from home, until sometimes TWO IN THE MORNING…
as opposed to in some other way?
my father was a copy-editor, he too worked until 2am.
my friend says that the best creative ideas always happen between midnight and 6 am.
when I arrange music for marching band (very fun in fact)
I always end up doing it from like at night till dawn.
so, like,
what the fuck, why???
so it seems, the fact that there are some things that almost everyone but me does
does not in fact mean all that much, when it comes to my chances of some day doing them too.
I always believed it did,
but that’s what happens when you have ANY beliefs about yourself, negative or positive;
you see evidence of them everywhere you look, i.e, they sorta come true in a loose sense.
THOUGHT of the day (like this one, I do.)
Serving others instead of yourself, and allowing others to serve you too
is easier if your tastes are conventional, average.
